telnet not connecting - bad pin number?

I am very new at this and need some advise or help. I have setup the IP to the netburner SBL2E and can ping and view the web browser. Although I am about to browse via IP, I am not able to telnet into the device no matter what I try. I have tried telnet using 23, 24, 1000, 1001 but no luck. I cannot seem to find what I need to log into the device via telnet no matter what I read online. Maybe I'm missing something?

commands I've tried:
telnet 1.1.1.1 23
telnet 1.1.1.1 24
telnet 1.1.1.1 1000
telnet 1.1.1.1 1001

What code is the SBL2E running?

If its runnign the factory tcp to serial app, did you configure the tcp to serial(using a web browser)
so that t was accepting tcp/telnet connections ?

Hey thank pbreed for the reply. I think something is wrong with the OS because I was waiting on a Welcome prompt. I believe it did connect because I would press the letter v and it would give me the version number of the board.

Now the question is why or what do I do next to get the default or demo OS on the device to run eclipse on it and write some code. I really just want to grab all the data in the RAM and pull it off through telnet or tftp. Can you help?

the V version would be the monitor via a serial port, not the telnet.
There is no telnet command server just a telnet to serial gateway...

Did you buy a bare SBL2E or a dev kit with tools?

If a dev-kit with tools follow the getting started guide... exactly...
