High Speed data bus input

Post by CiaranMurphy »

Greetings,

I am an experienced analog designer that needs to add an Ethernet capability to a video encoder I designed. I need to get a MPG4 parallel TS to TCP/IP. I plan on using the MOD5234 unit as a daughter card to the encoder. I could use some help in understanding how to interface to this device.

Input to MOD5234
Data 8 bit to D16-23
NOT(DataEN) to /CS1. (This is low when the bus has data)

Questions
Do I hook up my Data Bus CLK to the /BS2 line to read the Data Bus?
How do I use the /TA and /TIP lines? I have only one bus are they necessary?
Are there any glaring items I am missing?
My MPG4 stream also has a Start Bit line that is high for one cycle at the start of data, do I need to use this?

Thanks in advance for any help
