Good morning. I purchased a NNDK-MOD5213_KIT a long time ago and am trying to get started with a simple project but am facing difficulties.
Anyone willing to provide some input as to where I should start? Here are my issues:
1. The software is REL198_Final. Where can I download the latest software?
2. I am running on Windows 7, with only USB. I have a USB to Serial converter that works fine for Parallax hardware, I can't tell if this is where my problems lie, but I doubt it.
3. When I run the Mttty Serial Terminal, I get the startup screen, but when I try to connect to the device I get "Error 2: CreateFile. The System cannot find the file specified". I believe I have made all the changes required to change permissions to administrator on the application.
4. The hardware works. It is still running the demo application where the LED's light in the two alternating patterns.
Any advice on how to get me going would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Just getting started
I have just fixed the connection problem (although I don't know how).
Now I can get Windows 7 to communicate with the Mod 5213kit. I suspect that it was a problem with the USB-2-serial adapter. I unplugged it, rebooted and plugged it back in. It now communicates.
I did change other things though that were not particularly related to Mttty, so I can't say for sure that this was the solution to the problem.
Anyone point me to the latest release information and downloads or whatever for the software?
Also is this login good for the support site too?
Thanks.

I don't work for NetBurner so I don't speak with authority but as I recall you get one year of support when you buy a DevKit. After that you can buy a year's worth of support (I think it cost $99). This gets you access to the latest tools. From http://www.netburner.com you can use the Support menu and use Support Login, enter your name and password. In the left panel is the Get Latest Tools link. If you don't have a current support agreement the Get Latest Tools link won't work. Support from this forum is of course free, as is access to the Wiki. If you haven't seen the Wiki take a gander at least at the FAQs and some of the How To articles that interest you.
