AutoUpdate Fails in NNDK 2.5.0

It is basically impossible that Tod doesn't know AutoUpdate uses UPD and TcpUpdate uses TCP packets. He must be fooling around.

Bingo! The firewall thing did the trick. All fixed now and AutoUpdate is running like a charm.

Chris - I am so ashamed for exposing my ignorance in public. As punishment I will fire up WireShark and analyze all network traffic for a week. On the bright side, now I know the difference. The one thing I do know, is that after decades of learning, the amount of stuff that I'm ignorant of has increased enormously.

acreque - Interesting that it used to work. I would have to guess that McAfee auto updated and somehow removed your permission for AutoUpdate. You will probably need to add it back manually. Makes you wonder if it's going to happen again.

Tod: Yeah, I was also wondering about the fact that AutoUpdate ever worked at all -- and in fact had worked for several weeks before it suddenly failed. That's why I focused things that had changed recently (like my code) rather than anything else on the system. Go figure.

Funny thing: I got kicked in the shins like this once before by Norton Antivirus. Guess I just blocked it out..
