Adding a product to licenses - getting s/w from CD

Post by greengene »

we've been using mod5282 and have the nburn s/w installed.
we now are going to also use the mod5270.
do we need to delete and reinstall the nburn software to add the mod5270
license so those libraries get included too?

During a re-install, the installation usually remembers your existing serial numbers, eg in your case, for the 5282. I think you should be able to add the serial number for the new 5270 module. When I update, I often rename an existing c:\nburn directory to c:nburn_abandoned_date and keep it around for a while, although I have never needed to go back to it. When you go to the trouble of updating, I would NOT do it from old CDs, but instead, get the latest tools off the support site. In some instances, (like with your existing 5282 installation) this may update operable code to a more recent rev. Once again, this has never proven to be a problem, but sometimes does require some minor adjustments either to the code itself, or, more often, to the the Eclipse environment. On par, the updated revs have always proven worthwhile.

I would agree with RidgeGlider, and install release 2.4. The release notes show the changes from 2.3.
