Hi, can anyone recomend a simple relay driver circuit or IC that can be used to interface the SBL2e digital outputs to a 5V or 12V relay. I am looking for a solution that I can hand wire on to a 0.1inch pitch breadboard.

Thanks

Bill

the best. absolutely. ULN2003.

figuring 12 volt relays:

connect ULN2003 8 to ground
connect ULN2003 9 to +12
connect ULN2003 16-10 to relay coil pin 1
connect relay coil pins 2 to +12
connect ULN2003 1-7 to your processor - no resistor needed - 3.3 volts is fine

7 ballsy outputs with diode deflash :D

I like NUD3112 for small relays and MIC4421 for larger.

Thanks guys, it looks like both your solutions would suit my purposes, it just depends upon how many relays I decide I need.

I havent fully decided to use the SBL2e yet , I am also looking at the Roving Networks RN121 with inbuilt Wifi.

Thanks again, Bill
