Wifi ad-hoc problem

I'm trying to get the wireless module (NBWIFIUG-100CR on a MOD5234 base) to communicate over an ad-hoc wireless network. My current test setup is to have a laptop running Windows 7 create an ad-hoc network, and I try to have the netburner connect to it using the provided sample program (nburn\examples\Wifi\wifiadhoc).

I use the IPSetup utility to give the wireless unit an unused IP (tried several in both 192.168.x.x and 169.254.x.x), and then use the 5234 program's "Attach SSID [WEP key]" option to attach to the ad-hoc network. Immediately when the network connects, I start getting these messages on MTTTY:

Code: Select all

NB Debug processEvent, line 878, at 3232
_C2hLbk_EVT_
NB Debug processEvent, line 878, at 3234
_C2hLbk_EVT_
It's always the same error message, except the last number increases anywhere from 2-10 every time. I've tried with and without WEP, and with and without a firewall on the laptop, and the results are always the same. Pinging doesn't work in either direction, but the netburner does actually seem to be on the network, because the laptop status message changes from "Waiting for users" to "Connected" once the netburner connects.

I'm very new to netburner software, so I'm pretty much at a loss here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
David

Have you downloaded the very latest beta?
Adhoc is something we have been working on.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply. I believe I am running the newest version, I'm on NNDK 2.4 RC2, which is the version shown on the Download Tools page of the NetBurner website (http://support.netburner.com/SelfService/Tools.html). If there is a specific page for newer beta releases, could you point me towards it please?

Thanks,
David

I believe that there is newer stuff available.

Can you submit a support ticket.

I know the person working on Adhoc Wifi has it working between a netburner and PC.

I believe that there are still some issues making an AdHoc connection between two netburners.

The person I need to ask is out today and I'm leaving for a week Sat Morning and will be without internet conenctions for a week.

Submitting a support request it probably the fastest course of action.
