SNMP

Post by bstark »

We are using the SNMP support for our NetBurner module. I am getting questions as to what version of the standard we support. What versions of SNMP does NetBurner support, and how can I state for certain which one we adhere too. I do know that we are not using V3, but from my research V2 looks like a mess. I'm totally confused here.

SNMPv1

some support for additional v2 data types have been added,
however the package is not fully v2 compliant.

it does work wonderfully as a v1 agent.

so, tell 'em v1.

if you are looking to go to v3, the NetBurner partner has been extremely
helpful with our inquiries, though we (still!) haven't made the decision to
support v3 in our products.
