Thanks for the suggestion about the timing, I originally made a board that the LCD plugged in right by the NB module. worked just fine there. When i made the actual unit and ran a 6" FPC cable is when it stopped working. I did in fact slow the timing down but that did not help.
after i re-made the board using 3, 74LVC245's things work just fine now.

Bit confusing there as it looked like it was a reply about timing but in fact was my previous posting with a small question at the end but the poster pradap did not include the reply as a quote.
