Hi,

The wifi module is still in FCC testing. We will know more in a few weeks.

Wifi Update....

The FCC testing for an intentional radiator takes about three weeks.
We failed the 2nd harmonic radiated emmsions test. (comming off the module not out the antenna.
Two board spins later we passed that test on Thursday of last week with 9 Db of margin.

So now we need to rerun the entire test sequence on the new board.
I'm currently waiting for an e-mail from the testing facility as to when we can restart.
and what*, if anything) of what we have already done can be reused.

Thanks for the update and very sorry to hear that. Did you guys put and RF shield around all the components ?

The majority of the components have been covered by a shield for both tests. This is a FCC requirement to qualify module type wireless devices.

Really, I thought that when you shield it nothing gets out.

RF will find a way!

I had one design where a swage pin fitted to tune the processor crystal frequency at ICT was acting like an antenna, to pass emission testing it had to be removed and a test pad added instead.
