Net Burner Virtual Comm Port Ver 2.1

When I open the NB Virtual Comm, I'm getting the following error. Any help is appreciated!

sec_ConnectService failed with error -2

Which version of windows?

Which NetBurner module are you using?

The more information you can provide the better.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the quick response. It's actually one of our customers that is having the issue, I've sent him a e-mail asking him which OS he's on. But we ship our products with Net Burner's SBL2e. Everything seems to be working fine, he would just like to setup a virtual COM port instead of having to connect via TCP/IP. When he runs the virtual comm port software, the image from my original post is what he sees. He doesn't even get the option to "Add".

edit: The customer is on Windows 7 64bit.

The installation should create a service called sec. The message indicates the service is not running. If you look at your own install you should be able to see it in the task manager. It may be that the install did not complete correctly, or somehow he does not have permissions on the system to either install, or run the service. You might have him try logging in as an administrator, uninstalling what he has, then resinstalling and running as admin to see if there is a difference.
