i've had intermittent I2C problems for a (long?) while but because of the devices
i could just re-read them again later without too much heartburn. i recently
started talking with a new device and was getting fails ~1/3 of the time and then
much more problems with other devices on the bus.
so, when in doubt...i checked the current release notes and there it was!
i grabbed i2cmaster.cpp for the 5282 from 2.4 and moved it into the 2.2 lib we
are using (updating to 2.4 soon) and voila! my i2c problems are gone!!!!

now back to draining the swamp...
