Boot record invalid

Post by gnelson »

I have a CB34EX that keeps coming up showing a invalid boot record. I tried using MTTY to reprogram the unit with the factory default software but still no go. Is there any way to reset the boot record back to factory default?

Thanks

Never mind. Found the module had lost it's MAC address and had to manually load it in again. All good now.

How did you do that? I can get to the boot monitor, hit 'setup', and it tells me my MAC is 0-0-0-0-0-0. But it doesn't seem to give me an option to reset it.

If the MAC is 00-00-00-00-00-00 when you try to save the config record from
the
setup
command it will prompt for the new MAC address...
Also from the setup command
K will kill the mMAC address allowing you a chance to reenter it if you get it wrong.
(Some really old monitors had ~ as the kill MAC address command)

Thank you, that worked! It still says my boot record is invalid, but at least I can keep working on that. Thanks, Dan B.
